AC&C in the Media
AC&C proactively works with news agencies and other marketing and advertising venues to promote responsible pet ownership, pet adoptions and the services of AC&C. If you are a member of the media and would like to contact us, please e-mail our Media Department.
Tune in to the latest episode of wNYC’s Soundcheck (93.9 FM) to hear AC&C Behavior Supervisor Jen Abrams and others discuss the calming effects of music on dogs. AC&C recently teamed up with The Animal Rescue Mp3 Project, and thanks to this group, soothing music now plays for dogs and cats at our shelters.
On Sunday, July 21st, Rock & Rawhide co-founders--two of New York's Kindest--Sean-Patrick M. Hillman & Kylie Edmond, appeared on WABC-TV Channel 7 Eyewitness News, and featured an AC&C dog, Marina, who is still available for adoption! Come see her and others that are looking for their forever homes! Thanks Rock & Rawhide for all the great work you do! Check out the video here...

Our Media Partners
Thank you to the following outlets for highlighting AC&C animals on a regular basis.
The Today Show, Bow to Wow
Thanks to Animal Advocate Jill Rappaport, each month The Today Show features an award winning segment called Bow-to-Wow, in which dogs selected from AC&C are groomed and found loving homes. This year we are celebrating our fourth anniversary. The show has been extremely successful with a 100 percent adoption success record! Celebrities, such as Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps, country star John Rich, and Donald Trump have walked dogs on the show for us or adopted one of the super-cute canines.
NBC News, Saturday mornings
Each Saturday morning for the past eight years, NBC has featured a Pet Adoption segment for AC&C dogs and cats. Three animals available for adoption are featured along with helpful tips about properly caring for your pet. We also mention upcoming adoption and fund raising events so if people cannot adopt they can support AC&C in other ways.
Canarsie Courier, Pet of the Week
The Canarsie Courier is an independent weekly newspaper that is distributed in many Brooklyn communities. Each week they generously profile a dog or cat from AC&C that is available for adoption at our Brooklyn Care Center.
