The Field Operations Division of AC&C responds to calls from the public and government agencies to maintain public safety and assist animals in need, in the five boroughs of New York City.
Between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday through Friday, telephone calls should be directed to 311. At other times 311 will direct emergency telephone calls to your local police precinct.
Field Operations staff responds to calls to pick up:
- animals that threaten the safety of the public
- stray or homeless animals,
- wildlife that is injured, ill or causing a threat to public health or safety.
AC&C Field Operations may, as scheduling permits, pick up owned animals being surrendered by their owners to AC&C. This service is provided, when available, for a fee.
