A volunteer writes: Should I really say "cutie patootie" talking about Bruin , a big guy who looks more like a bear? I think so! Bruin was at first a little cautious with me, a perfect stranger. He looked so stern, a bit frozen. He did not want even my best treats. Balls were not his thing too. He was obedient, sat on command, stayed around me like he wanted to check me out. I assume that when he decided that I was OK to mingle with, he jumped on the bench , stayed there and waited for me. Bruin was ready for his "dose" of caresses and TLC. What a mushy face he made and such tender eyes. He relaxed and a big smile came up. The big bear was happy! Bruin took my treats , tilted his head with squeaky toys and even hinted at going after a tennis ball. Bruin came to us with his four housemates as their owner passed away. Like them, Bruin is dreaming of a home to call his own and a new family to love. Come and meet him soon at the Manhattan Care Center.
