AC&C NEWS AND HIGHLIGHTS

Team AC&C Continues to Strut

Our Strut Your Mutt goal of $12,000 for STAR (Special Treatment and Recovery) Fund is almost within reach! Even though the event is over, we can still accept donations up to October 11. Please consider donating today - every dollar goes directly to the STAR fund.

New Mobile Adoption Center Planned for the Bronx!

AC&C is on its way to securing a second Mobile Adoption Center, this one dedicated to bringing pets to people in the Bronx! The vehicle, and staffing for it, will be made possible through a $250,000 grant secured by State Senator Jeff Klein in this year’s state budget. The addition of this Mobile Adoption Center will enable AC&C to promote pet adoptions to even more homes throughout the Bronx.

Senator Klein made the announcement on August 17 at the Riverdale Children’s Musical Festival in Seton Park. Cats and dogs were available for adoption on the premises, via AC&C’s existing Mobile Adoption Center, which was generously funded by the ASPCA and FENWICK KEATS Real Estate.

It's Wishlist Wednesday

Looking for more ways to help? Now you can...every Wednesday. AC&C has launched Wishlist Wednesday! Every week we ask for different things that our animals could really use. Last week we asked for treats for our kitties. THANK YOU to all of our donors!

Today's Wishlist Wednesday item is...Stretch & Scratch! These wonderful cardboard scratchers are perfect for cats that are in a shelter environment - they hook right up to their cage! We can never have enough and really appreciate any that you can send.

AC&C new Mobile Adoption Center is on the move

We now have a Mobile Adoption Center, made possible by the ASPCA and FENWICK KEATS Real Estate! The brand new vehicle will enable AC&C to bring shelter dogs and cats to New Yorkers wishing to adopt throughout the five boroughs.

Check out this great time-lapse video of the Mobile Adoption Center coming together – then check out the vehicle in person, at an adoption event near you!

AC&C Participates in Just One Day

On Wednesday, June 11, Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) joined animal shelters across the nation that participated in the ‘Just One Day’ event, which encourages shelters to suspend euthanasia on that day. Hear about it in this 1010 WINS interview with AC&C Executive Director Risa Weinstock and be sure to check out this segment on PIX11. Looking for ways to make every day Just One Day? Adopt, volunteer, donate – and please encourage others to do the same.
